  • FCS Contest will be held in conjunction with Discovery Days. It is listed as a session youth can choose from the Class Session Catalog. Be sure to let your Extension Unit know what session you are selecting, so teams can participate together.
  • TALENT SHOW! Sign-up to participate in the talent show when registering for the event, but a two minute video URL will need to be submitted by May 8th, 2026 to Kansas4h@ksu.edu .
Event Overview

Discovery Days is a mini college experience designed for youth who are 13-18 years of age as of January 1. Youth will have the opportunity to select classes and attend social functions.

The primary purpose of 4-H Discovery Days is to gain new ideas and expand your 4-H experience. You experience this through action-oriented learning activities, fun tours, and great evening social events. You will meet new people, build leadership skills, and grow as a person!

  • Help youth learn new ideas, techniques, and skills they can use personally and in their 4-H clubs or groups and communities
  • Give youth in-depth training through hands-on educational sessions from content and youth development experts
  • Prepare youth to make informed decisions about their careers and college path
  • Enhance personal growth by giving opportunities to develop responsibility, confidence, independence, accountability, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills
  • Help youth meet new people and make new friends from different places and with different backgrounds from across the state
  • Provide an opportunity for youth to experience the K-State campus and its wealth of resources
  • Develop college and career readiness skills that prepare participants academically and socially for a successful transition to college and life as an adult
  • HAVE FUN!

Please note, there will be NO food delivery allowed to attendees of Discovery Days. This includes but is not limited to UBER Eats, Door Dash, etc.
